“Volunteer Cars” are an important component of Transport de Clare’s service. Driven by volunteer drivers using their own vehicle, they are a cost-efficient alternative to using a larger vehicle when only one or two people need a ride.
All our volunteer drivers submit the standard volunteer screening documents: Driver’s Abstract, Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check. They are insured to carry passengers and receive a stipend for their mileage. Transport de Clare also pays for the additional insurance coverage.
Being a volunteer driver is a very rewarding experience. You will build solid relationships with other community members while helping them to get to their medical appointments, run errands or attend events they would otherwise miss. It’s a neighbourly thing to do, helps prevent isolation and strengthens community spirit.
TRANSPORT DE CLARE NEEDS MORE VOLUNTEER DRIVERS!
